He Could Only Imagine

Stan came out to church one Sunday because he thought it was the nice thing to do....after all, he thought, "You never know when God is going to have mercy and let me out of  jail."   Stan wasn't expecting to be touched by Larry's message on Heaven and Hell and he certainly wasn't expecting God to speak to his heart in any personal way.   But, it happened!   

After the message,  Larry told the men to sit back and close their eyes and listen to a song.  It was the 2002 song of the year by a group called Mercyme.  The name of the song was,  "I Can Only Imagine"  and it is a song of wonderings about that moment when we get to heaven and see Jesus.  The singer questions... "Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?   Will I dance for you Jesus or to my knees will I fall?    Will I sing hallelujahs?  Will I be able to speak at all?  I can only imagine......when  our lives are through, that we'd forever...forever worship You......" There was Stan with his eyes closed.....and the Lord enabled him to imagine and feel and yearn for a relationship with the Most High.

Stan went back to the pod and called his wife and told her to go online and find that song.  She did.  Together, this man and wife realized that there would come a day when they would have to meet Jesus and they knew that they needed to be ready.  The song was the vehicle God used to drive the Gospel home to Stan.  And Stan even went home shortly thereafter....and took his wife to church!

Larry saw him out about town just a week or two ago and Stan and his wife were still going strong in the faith.   Praise the Lord!   He has done a great thing for this couple, bringing them to faith together with the sweet melody of a song about Heaven.
